NC Sports Trust Position

WE sadly farewell our present NC Sports Coordinator who has done so much valuable work in providing sporting opportunities for our students. Thank you Janelle Crawley from All the students, teachers and parents of the Fernside School Community,  present and past.

About Us
The North Canterbury Sport & Recreation Trust is a charitable trust formed in 1983 and has evolved to become the region's main provider of quality sports health, fitness, education, recreation facilities and programmes. It is focused on providing opportunities for recreation, sport and physical activity for all ages in partnership with community groups, schools and clubs, with particular emphasis on diverse participation and accessibility to a wide range of programmes.
About the Position
As the Primary School Sports Coordinator, you will manage and coordinate all aspects of the Primary School Coaching programmes and special school events in partnership with the Operations Manager. The role has a high level of responsibility in delivering on the Trust's Mission and maintaining its reputation in the community with top quality sports programmes and activities for preschool and primary school children. You will be responsible for seeking funding streams and lodging applications. The Sports Coordinator plans and organises the delivery of key sports events during the school year - this could involve up to 600 children. The role also works very closely with several stakeholders to achieve the strategic objectives of the Trust by providing guidance and support while maintaining constructive relationships. The position is for 24 - 34 hours per week, excluding school holidays (42 weeks/year). There is an initial 3-4 week training period involving approximately 4 hours per day.
About You
You will have experience in coordinating sports competitions, events and programmes. An efficient self-starter with strong interpersonal and communications skills, you will be comfortable meeting new challenges with a determination to succeed. You possess event planning skills and the ability to anticipate the needs of the community and stakeholders alike as well as the knowledge of principles and methods for teaching and instruction of groups and individuals.
